Lesson 3 - Credit Cards and Credit Scores
Explains how not owing/using a credit card could hurt people in the future by hurting their credit standing.
Some people, especially younger adults, don’t like credit cards and often don’t own any. Here’s the problem. Not owning and using a credit card doesn’t give a credit manager much to go on if and when a person applies for credit – for instance, to buy a car. There’s nothing to go on – no credit history – on which to base a decision to lend or not lend. In those cases the decision is likely to be not to lend because there’s no history of repaying debts. Sorry!
